Because we educate mostly breast surgery, liposuction and tummy tuck patients; we require our plastic surgeons to be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, which qualifies the surgeon to perform both body and facial procedures. By choosing an American Board of Plastic Surgery certified plastic surgeon; patients are ensured the surgeon has graduated from an accredited medical school and completed at least five years of residency (usually three years of general surgery and two years of plastic surgery). An ABPS certified plastic surgeon must also practice for two years and pass written and oral examinations in plastic surgery.

There are over 5000 ABPS certified plastic surgeons, and of them only a small percentage are invited to join our plastic surgeon directory. I have personally checked the qualifications of our member surgeons. In fact, our plastic surgeons meet higher standards than those of any other referral service as we only list select plastic surgeons to be in our surgeon directory. Our plastic surgeons must also maintain that standard in order to remain in our surgeon directory.

About Cosmetic Surgeons:
Some refer to plastic surgeons as cosmetic surgeons; however, a plastic surgeon is what you really want. Most doctors calling themselves "cosmetic surgeons" are not American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) certified plastic surgeons. When considering any plastic surgery procedure of the body, such as lipo, tummy tucks and breast surgery, you can be sure your doctor is qualified, trained and experienced in plastic surgery by looking for a plastic surgeon that is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). "I am writing about my breast augmentation experience with Dr. Dwight Baker. I am 36 years old and contemplated having a breast augmentation for about 7 years. I did tons of research on the risks and benefits etc. After much research I decided that I was willing to accept the possible risk, and started searching for a plastic surgeon. I live in the Atlanta area, and went to several different consults. I had a friend who had gone to Dothan Alabama, and used a Dr. Dwight Baker. I wanted a plastic surgeon that specialized in breast augmentation, and this was what Dr. Baker does the most of. 

I have heard from several people that Dothan, Alabama is the "boob job" capital of the world. I called his office for some information, and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the office staff was. This was my first green light that I would consider traveling to Dothan (several other plastic surgeon office staff I had contacted were short, and unwilling to talk without a scheduled appointment). I did what Dr. Baker refers to has a 3 day breast augmentation. I sent photos in first. Dr. Baker reviews your photos, and then contacts you if he thinks that you are a proper candidate for breast augmentation. 

After hearing back from Dr. Baker that I was a perfect candidate for a breast augmentation, I scheduled my consult and surgery. I went to Dothan on Wednesday for my consult. I was not that worried about size. I trusted that Dr. Baker would do his best as a plastic surgeon to do what would be best for my size body, and in the end have less complications. He told me up front that he was not in the business to make people look unnatural.  His goal is to make you look as natural as possible. This was music to my ears. The surgery and recovery went great. The nurses and anesthesiologist at the out patient center were so caring and warm. I just felt absolutely comfortable with the whole process. They were all very experienced and knowledgeable. 

I am 8 weeks post op now. Everything has turned out perfect.  I am very soft, and my scars are small and fading fast. I had no post op trouble at all. It was painful for the first 3 days, but I was expecting that. I also was very concerned in the beginning because one breast seemed larger that the other. I called his office so many times with concerns, and they consoled me and told me to give it time. That was exactly what it took, TIME. You go through a lot of changes during your post op period. I am very happy with my results now. I have a 27 inch rib cage, and I am 5'4" and 112 lb. I wanted a C cup. I was a 34 AAA on a good day before breast augmentation. I got 330 ccs, under, crease incision. I AM NOW A BEAUTIFUL C CUP!!!  :)  I think that the having a breast augmentation and choosing Dr. Baker as my plastic surgeon was one of the best decisions that I have ever made.
