Several times each year, Dr. Blau updates his training in courses given by top U.S. Universities (Harvard, UCLA and NYU) among others. He regularly attends seminars and conventions, in and out-of-state, for the purpose of continuing education. Most of the cosmetic procedures are done in Dr. Blau's surgical office-based facility in White Plains, N. Y. His staff of professionals (anesthesiologists and nurses) are fully accredited. Dr. Blau is affiliated with White Plains Hospital, St. Agnes Hospital (for the past 20 years) and other reputable, local hospitals. References will be provided upon request. Plastic Surgeon's Professional Experience While in Medical School, at age twenty-four, Dr. Blau worked, as a nurse's assistant, and then as a registered nurse in a university hospital. This gave him a unique opportunity to experience first hand, and to understand the level of devotion and hard work of the nursing staff. In 1972 - 1973 Dr. Blau was very fortunate to work closely with a pioneer and one of the inventors of the modern medical laser, Professor Issac Kaplan, MD. He also was working with renovator of techniques in modern plastic surgery, Professor George Peled, MD. Plastic Surgeon's Army Service Dr. Blau served in the military as a Medic. Upon completion of medical school, he became a Medical Officer. At age twenty-seven, he was Commander of the Medical Surgical Unit in the Army Field Hospital. While serving, he had to make many life saving decisions, and most of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery had to be performed on the spot. When patients had to be transferred to the Army Medical Center for treatment, Dr. Blau remained involved as to their progress and followed their recovery. Strathmore's "Who's Who" Recognizes Dr. Blau for his outstanding achievements and leadership in his profession. The Ruben Dario Cultural Institute in White Plains awarded him a Lifetime Membership. Our Anesthesiologist ~ Dr. Joel Greenspan Joel G. Greenspan, M.D. is the head of the Anesthesia staff. He is Board Certified and has been in practice with Dr. Blau for over 15 years.Dr. Greenspan did his Anesthesia training at the University of California, San Diego, his fellowship training in Regional Anesthesia and Pain Management at the Virginia Mason Clinic and University of Washington, respectively. He formerly was Chief of the Department of St. Agnes Hospital and also served as Chairman of the Medical Board as well as Medical Director of the hospital. At that time, Dr. Greenspan and Dr. Blau began doing surgeries in Dr.Blau's office but usually in the afternoon after the hospital's operating room schedule. For the past six years, Dr. Greenspan has devoted himself to office Anesthesia. Dr. Greenspan also specializes in the management of chronic pain. Blau specializes in cosmetic surgery of the face and body. The University
of Tel-Aviv awarded Dr. Blau his Medical Degree in 1973. His internship
and residency in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery were completed
at Albert Einstein Medical School in New York. Dr. Blau instructed medical
students in the anatomy labs of both Albert Einstein Medical College
and the New York Medical College.
Dr.
Blau is also known for his artistry in painting (including both oils
and watercolors) and sculpting, a natural talent, well suited to his
chosen profession. His collections were exhibited in San Francisco,
New York and as far away as Europe. Some of his creations are on display
in his office reception area for all to appreciate and enjoy. His artistic
abilities earned him a lifetime membership at the Ruben Dario Cultural
Institute in White Plains, N. Y. - a prestigious award presented to
